The Creative Writing MA at Royal Holloway, University of London, is one of the leading such programmes in the UK. It is based in a Georgian townhouse in Bedford Square, Bloomsbury, in the heart of literary London and next door to the British Museum. As part of the university’s London Graduate School, it offers facilities across three sites, including Senate House, the heart of the University of London and the home to the Senate House Library.
We are a selective programme, and look for students with a committed writing practice and a distinctive emerging voice. We have no house style and celebrate the diversity, originality and range of our students, who are of all ages and drawn from across the world.
Those teaching on the MA have included Jo Shapcott, Andrew Motion, Susanna Jones, Robert Hampson, Nadifa Mohamed and Eley Williams. Current workshop tutors include Nikita Lalwani, Anna Whitwham, Matt Thorne, Lavinia Greenlaw, Redell Olsen and Sean Borodale.
